We have had one hell of a busy month here at Domino PR after the BBC Radio 1 Academy decided set up shop down here in Devon in preparation for this year’s BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Exeter. We are very honoured to have been invited to the events and to even take part in some of the workshops.
This week I was asked to anchor a show on Phonic FM as the station teamed up with BBC Radio 1‘s Academy to run workshops on how to ‘produce and present a live radio show’. We had interviews with BBC Radio 1 mid morning show presenter Clara Amfo, BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge/ Clara Amfo Show producer Julie Shepherd and Laura Mvula to mention a few. The whole day was incredible and I felt very honoured to be a part of it. A big thanks to everyone involved, including the Sound Gallery at Exeter Phoenix for letting Phonic FM take it over and for the local acts to perform live, the chairs at Phonic FM for inviting me and of course everyone at the BBC.

This Saturday I have been asked to take part in the careers workshop in the hangout area at Exeter Phoenix to chat to 16-19 year olds about my job here at Domino PR and my advice on getting a job in the music industry. I can’t wait to take part and I feel very privileged to have been asked. If you’d like to come down there are tickets still available via the Skiddle link below, more details can be found on the BBC Radio 1 Academy website linked below.
I just want to take this opportunity to thank the team at BBC Introducing in Devon for their continued support of Domino PR, all involved at BBC Radio 1 Academy and to everyone of whom I spoke with at the BBC who have been so friendly and welcoming. I hope to take part in something like this again soon!
